Part 150 Open House

This meeting covered key information about the Noise and Land Use Compatibility Study (Part 150 Study). The Part 150 Study is a voluntary Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) process that identifies the level of aircraft noise in an airport vicinity and identifies potential measures to reduce the effects of noise on surrounding neighborhoods.

Community members were able to arrive when it was convenient to them and review the project materials and ask questions of the project team. Materials and communications shared during this meeting will be available online following the event, through the project website at kciaplanning.com.

FOD Walk / Airport Community Day

The 2024 KCIA FOD Walk and Airport Community Day was a great success!
Hundreds of visitors participated in the 4th annual FOD Walk – enjoying the special opportunity being on a two mile runway and helping look for foreign object debris -, and even more were subsequently welcomed by more than 20 airport-related exhibitors, four food trucks, and a static display area with a very interesting variety of aircraft and one of the airport’s ARFF (Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting) trucks.

We’re sure we can make next year’s event even more attractive and fun – looking forward to welcoming you back in Summer of 2025!
